The Role A busy public sector department are keen to recruit a qualified Landscape Architect initially on a 2 to 3 month contract. This contract period may be extended further due to expected workload and contracts.
The ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge of hard and soft landscape works, construction methods, site practice and contract administration, a broad knowledge and abilities in conceptual and detailed design, Knowledge of Codes of Practice, Statutory Regulations and relevant legislation, Working knowledge of CAD, Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes. Ideally you will be a member of the Landscape Institute and access to a car and a current full driving license are essential.
Knowledge of CPI & NBS, Reclamation work, Remediation of Contaminated Sites, Development Control, Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation related to the reclamation of contaminated land are desirable but not essential.
Also ideally you will hold an appropriate degree and or professional qualification in planning or construction disciplines and have experience of Local authority work, Reclamation work, Remediation of Contaminated sites, Supervision of Junior and Technical staff and ability to advise on Development Control issues.
Key Responsibilities
To undertake major projects from inception to completion on an individual basis or as a project team leader.
The key roles of this post will include:
1. To implement the standards and policies of the Service.
2. To monitor the progress of individual projects, expenditure and employee time, and/or allocated tasks within prescribed timetables.
3. To carry out individual projects within expenditure and time constraints.
4. To deal with other services, agencies and the general public.
5. To undertake feasibility studies and project design and co-ordinate and/or provide the management of pre- and post-contract project activities (Including dealing with Contractors) all in accordance with the Plan of Work adopted by the Service.
6. To undertake surveys and advise on reclamation, contaminated land and development issues.
7. Such other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.

Contract workers - 185 hours on a single or concurrent assignment(s).
